Steven Neuman, a Managing Director with StoneTurn, has 17 years of experience in advising clients and companies, six years of which were spent living in South America. He has been performing forensic accounting investigations, due diligence, business strategy, operations and general business-related disputes across Latin America, including “on-the-ground” experience in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, since 2005.
Steven brings significant expertise in investigating Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) and other fraud-related matters in Latin America. He has been involved in several FCPA matters and has investigated potential misconduct through conducting interviews, reviewing and examining financial records, assessing country-specific risk factors through detailed risk assessments, testing internal controls and performing in-depth analyses of transactions and data. He has translated and reviewed financial and operational reports in multiple languages, revenue and expense reports, and financial forecasts of non-U.S. companies on behalf of U.S. stakeholders.
Steven is experienced in performing due diligence investigations in numerous regions. These matters have involved assessing and reviewing various accounting operations, conducting financial analysis, including forecasting and budgeting, determining appropriate tax strategies, and evaluating and testing internal controls.
Steven has worked with clients across a wide range of industries in Latin America, including financial services, healthcare, infrastructure, media production, oil & gas, real estate, retail, sports marketing, technology
Earlier in his career, Steven was VP of Finance & Operations and President of a global telecommunications company in the U.S. and South America, respectively, where he was responsible for all aspects of the organization, including financial administration, network operations, sales and marketing.
Steven holds a Six Sigma Champion Certification and is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch.
