Jeremy Newell, a Managing Director with StoneTurn, specializes in compliance and monitoring, forensic accounting and auditing, and litigation advisory. Over the course of his career, Jeremy has performed forensic accounting investigations and assisted counsel with accounting and auditing matters related to earnings management, asset misappropriation, internal controls, and the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Jeremy recently served on the Forensic Adviser team supporting the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ)-Appointed Independent Compliance Monitor and Auditor of Volkswagen AG. In this role, he helped assess Volkswagen’s compliance with the terms of a criminal plea agreement and civil consent decree, as well as the automaker’s anti-fraud, ethics and compliance programs. Jeremy has also worked on engagements involving SEC enforcement inquiries and internal investigations.

Previously, Jeremy spent three years in a Big Four accounting firm’s audit practice focusing on financial statement and regulatory audits for public, private, and not-for-profit entities across various industries including manufacturing, retail, higher education, and healthcare.

Jeremy is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of Connecticut, is Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
