Michael Costa, Partner and Head of the Province Applied Intelligence Lab, leverages data analytics and data science, investigations, complex litigation, and compliance matters. He applies artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to help clients uncover insights, assess risk, and drive informed decision-making in complex matters.

Michael has provided data analytics expertise to clients on matters involving compliance and remediation, fraud investigations, complex litigation, and monitorships. He often focuses on transactional data, financial data, cryptocurrency and blockchain data, and large structured data sets.

He has worked with clients in the financial services, technology, education, life sciences and hospitality industries, as well as with public sector entities. Through his work leading the Province Applied Intelligence Lab, Michael has assisted clients in identifying practical use cases for AI, advanced data analytics, and other technologies to provide bespoke and reputable solutions to existing and emerging issues.

Michael holds an MBA with focus in Finance from Kellogg School of Management. Prior to joining StoneTurn, Michael led the data analytics team at a consulting firm in the higher education space. He specialized in student lifecycle analytics, marketing analytics and data systems integration, specifically for Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Learning Information Systems (LIS) and Student Information Systems (SIS). Michael’s career also includes four years in the Valuation Advisory Services practice at Duff & Phelps, where he specialized in tangible asset valuation.
