At StoneTurn, our culture is built on a foundation of collaboration, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. We foster an environment where talented professionals come together to solve complex challenges and deliver exceptional results for our clients.
StoneTurn’s culture is a “people-first” business model, reflecting the understanding that people are the firm’s greatest assets, and that success hinges on the long-term professional satisfaction and contribution of our professionals. Because StoneTurn’s culture is rooted in the active engagement of all our people, we value their unique identities, perspectives, backgrounds and experiences. Our professionals are encouraged through firm transparency to voice their ideas, participate in firm initiatives, and contribute to the development of our people and the success of our business.
Our culture is built upon the principles our firm’s founders laid out over two decades ago. These core values provide a clear roadmap for success. While many firms use similar language to describe their culture, what sets StoneTurn apart is how authentically we live these values every day. This fosters a unique and dynamic workplace where intellectual rigor is fused with an enjoyable culture, making it both a “smart” and “fun” environment for professionals to grow. Clients return to us time and again because of the genuine, collaborative, and results-oriented experience we provide. StoneTurn’s long-term approach to business ensures that integrity remains at the core of our client service, fostering trust, confidence, and sustained client relationships.
Core Values
- Collaboration: We believe collaboration is essential to delivering high-quality service. By tapping into the collective knowledge of our firm, we provide the best expertise and most efficient solutions to our clients.
- Entrepreneurship: We empower each StoneTurn professional to promote change, impact firm success, and encourage creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Development: We nurture the development of all our professionals, recognizing their distinct experiences, perspectives, and strengths, prioritizing their growth, expansion of knowledge, and well-being to help them reach their full potential. We also cultivate and nurture long-term client relationships that enable us to act as a trusted adviser to clients.
- Adaptability: We continually seek new approaches and cutting-edge solutions to help clients navigate complex challenges with confidence.
Talent Acquisition
Our talent acquisition approach is designed to identify and attract the most qualified candidates that can fit in and thrive in the StoneTurn culture. To do so, StoneTurn considers candidates from a variety of specialty platforms, including LinkedIn and Handshake, as well as state and local job boards, job search aggregator websites and our StoneTurn careers page. Advertising on multiple platforms assists our Talent Acquisition team to increase the volume of qualified candidates in addition to their direct candidate sourcing efforts. StoneTurn’s interview process strives to provide candidates a view of the firm’s unique culture through highlighting challenging projects and initiatives, providing opportunities for continuous learning and professional advancement.
Making an Impact
We take pride in the positive impact we make—not only for our clients but also within our communities. Through pro bono work, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), volunteering, and partnerships with charitable organizations, we contribute to causes that align with our values.
Employee Resource Groups
As noted in our founding Firm Statement, we are dedicated to providing access to resources and opportunities that empower each StoneTurn professional to impact individual and firm success, and encourage creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. One way we put this into practice is through our ERGs which are open to all employees and provide opportunities for internal and external networking, promote engagement, and foster a sense of community.
Pro Bono
At StoneTurn, we believe in using our expertise to make a meaningful impact beyond the business world. Through our pro bono efforts, we assist individuals, nonprofits, and community organizations facing financial and legal challenges, providing forensic analysis, investigative and litigation support, and expert testimony. Our dedication to pro bono work reflects our core values, ensuring that those in need have access to the highest level of professional support. We have provided pro bono services across a wide range of disciplines including:
- Expert testimony alongside pro bono legal counsel
- Economic review and financial analysis for a non-profit
- Litigation and forensic accounting support in divorce proceedings brought on behalf of victims of domestic violence
- Cybersecurity analysis for a non-profit
- Loan forgiveness consulting and forensic accounting services to a non-profit
- Forensic review of financial records for the Board of a non-profit
- Data preservation, recovery and email/text analysis in support of pro bono litigation efforts
StoneTurn partners with organizations like The Pro Bono Institute (PBI), which connects pro bono and public interest legal professionals at law firms, legal departments, and nonprofit organizations with expert legal support services to further our pro bono efforts. PBI empowers legal professionals to enhance their efforts in serving underserved individuals and communities, by facilitating access to expert resources, allowing them to tackle more complex cases.
Volunteering
StoneTurn is also committed to giving back to our communities. Not only do many of our professionals serve as leaders and volunteers for local community organizations, but we often organize and participate in charitable activities to give back to local communities during StoneTurn’s offsite meetings. In recent years, StoneTurn has volunteered with a local Louisville organization that provides equitable access to literacy support and social-emotional learning to children, partnered with Girls Inc. of Greater Miami to host an interactive STEM activity in which students learned about career paths, objectives, and skillsets, assisted in the cleanup of a nature preserve following Hurricane Irma in Florida, and packaged groceries for a local non-profit that provides food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to low income families in Washington, DC.
Join us and experience the StoneTurn difference—a culture where collaboration, integrity, and a genuine passion for solving complex challenges come together to drive success for our clients and our people.
