Jeremy Newell, a Managing Director with StoneTurn, brings nearly a decade of experience in forensic accounting investigations, litigation advisory, compliance and monitoring, and auditing.

Over the course of his career, Jeremy has worked with clients involved in a range of complex matters, including forensic accounting investigations and consultations, internal controls remediations, corporate monitorships, and legal disputes. His experience has involved the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), state and Federal prosecutors, and other government agencies.

Jeremy’s investigative experience includes both plaintiff and defense-side investigative support in matters involving alleged financial statement fraud, embezzlement, Ponzi schemes, procurement fraud, corruption, violations of the False Claims Act (FCA), and other forms of fraud and misconduct. His litigation experience includes preparing expert reports, pre-trial analyses, and assistance in expert deposition and testimony preparation.

Previously, Jeremy spent three years in a Big Four accounting firm’s audit practice focusing on financial statement and regulatory audits for public, private, and not-for-profit entities across various industries including manufacturing, retail, higher education, and healthcare.

Jeremy is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He was also one of only 36 CPAs in the United States to graduate from the 2022 AICPA Leadership Academy
