Piers de Wilde Joins the Firm as a Managing Director Based in London

Piers, who previously served in the investigations practices of two global consulting firms, brings more than a decade of experience in strategic intelligence and cross-border investigations, with special expertise in Western Europe, the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa. He focuses on pre-transactional due diligence, litigation support, business intelligence and specialist investigations.

The former Senior Policy Advisor to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Scott Boylan applies his hands-on knowledge of all aspects of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) to help clients negotiate mitigation agreements and establish leading operating protocols to ensure CFIUS compliance. He draws upon experience gained as the Chief Legal Officer of CFIUS-mitigated companies to provide businesses with critical insights into any potential cross-border investments.  Scott will lead our work with companies in the international trade arena, including advising counsel and companies on CFIUS-related challenges and sanctions compliance.

At DHS, Scott was responsible for developing and implementing the CFIUS process at the department’s inception. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and Massachusetts State Bar Associations.

For nine years, he was a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, serving as deputy chief of the Criminal Division and as chief of the General Crimes Unit. For two notable prosecutions, Allen received The Attorney General Award for Distinguished Service and the U.S. Department of Justice Director’s Award for Superior Performance.

Allen began his career as a law clerk to the Honorable Lowell A. Reed, Jr., U.S. District Judge in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, during which time he was an adjunct professor of law at Temple University School of Law. In 2017, Allen was named one of Consulting Magazine’s “Global Leaders in Consulting.”
