Nicole Stedman, a Manager with StoneTurn, has more than 7 years of experience in quantitative economic analysis, quasi-experimental statistics, and causal inference approaches.
Nicole works with clients to quantify economic damages and perform financial and business evaluations, with a focus on patent, trademark, and copyright infringement. With four years of graduate education in economics and significant experience in applied microeconomics and econometrics, Nicole brings a unique empirical approach to the analysis and quantification of intellectual property damages.
Nicole has designed, implemented, and executed multivariate regression analyses as well as detailed financial analyses on behalf of clients. Her experience with regression analyses in litigation settings includes identifying the value of specific patented technologies as well as evaluating the statistical impact of specific actions on financial and business outcomes. Nicole possesses a deep understanding of economic principles and data analysis, and can clearly explain how theoretical and data-driven approaches may apply to intellectual property and business transactions.
Prior to joining StoneTurn, Nicole was a graduate student in Economics at The University of Texas at Austin, where she studied the impacts of taxation on funding for education as well as the intersection of health and the environment on educational and labor market outcomes. While at UT Austin, Nicole worked as a graduate research assistant for a group of professors from UT Austin, Stanford, and Northwestern, and additionally taught weekly sessions to undergraduate economics and business students on theoretical microeconomic principles and applied econometric methods.
