Lauren Nowakowski, a Manager with StoneTurn, specializes in compliance and monitoring, forensic accounting and government contracting advisory services.

Lauren is highly skilled in the assessment of compliance programs and internal controls, and has advised companies on how to remediate and enhance compliance programs to prevent and detect fraud. Most recently, she served on a team of forensic advisers to the DOJ-appointed Independent Compliance Monitor and Auditor of a Fortune 10 automaker to assess the company’s compliance with the terms of a criminal plea agreement and civil consent decree and review its antifraud, ethics and compliance programs.

Lauren has supported investigations and litigation matters, including in the areas of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and False Claims Act (FCA). She also has experience on matters involving revenue recognition and other topics related to the interpretation and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). She has worked with clients across a variety of industries, such as defense, manufacturing, aerospace, software, and automotive, among others.

Prior to joining StoneTurn, Lauren was with a government contracting advisory firm, where she served as a Senior Associate and worked on investigations, litigation and disputes, and engagements involving complex accounting, reporting, and controls.

Lauren is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA).
