Issue:

A U.S. hospital required construction closeout audits and other construction advisory services for two recently completed expansion projects with budgets ranging between $5 – $10 million. Additionally, the hospital sought a monitor for the construction of a $500 million pavilion to ensure proper oversight and financial integrity.

Solution:

StoneTurn conducted comprehensive reviews, and recommended Management Action Plans to remedy identified control deficiencies and enhance governance efforts. Collaborating with the hospital’s Internal Audit and Construction teams, StoneTurn provided strategic guidance to strengthen oversight and ensure compliance with financial controls.

Results:

Through in-depth audits, StoneTurn identified approximately $150,000 in cost recoveries from the recently completed projects. These findings were incorporated into structured schedules to support negotiations with the General Contractor, leading to improved financial accountability and project efficiency. StoneTurn’s C&RE team also successfully monitored the construction of a $500 million pavilion, helping the hospital expand access to state-of-the-art healthcare services safely and efficiently.
