The UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO) recently published updated guidance within its Operational Handbook on the effectiveness of corporate compliance programs. The guidance underscores the importance of effective remediation and instructs investigators to take a close look at both the organization's compliance program at the time of the potential offense, as well as the program currently in place.
