Alan Ratliff served as a panelist at the IPO Damages & Injunctions Committee Conference on Wednesday, May 27 in Washington, DC.

The one-day seminar focused on how damages cases are handled and explored potential changes to ensure uniform results in a changing patent environment.

Alan participated on the “Daubert and Evidentiary Issues in Patent Damages” panel, which explored proposed solutions related to the use of expert testimony; comparable license agreements; multi-featured products; and the use of summary judgment or partial summary judgment. The panel was moderated by Dori Johnson Hines of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner in Washington DC. Ruffin Cordell with Fish & Richardson in Boston, Chad Hanson of Medtronic in Minneapolis, and Judge Marilyn Huff of the Southern District of California were also on the panel.
