Michael Kass, a Managing Director with StoneTurn, has more than 20 years of capital markets experience in finance, risk management and internal controls. Specifically, he has focused on developing and implementing robust trading risk and control programs within global debt and equity trading functions.
Prior to joining StoneTurn, Michael was with Swiss Re Capital Markets in both the U.K. and U.S., where he was most recently the Head of Transaction Management for the firm’s global Treasury and Capital Markets trading portfolios. In this role, Michael was responsible for conducting risk assessments, designing and maintaining the trading controls environment and partnering with trading functions to develop and implement new products, strategies and procedures in accordance with current financial regulations, laws, policies and internal business objectives.
Michael has extensive experience implementing and operating supervisory control frameworks, client onboarding policies and regulatory compliance programs within the capital markets industry in both the U.S. and U.K.
Earlier in his career, Michael worked in risk management at Enron Europe; the product control group at Lehman Brothers International Europe; and as a chartered accountant within HSBC’s corporate tax division. Michael also has extensive experience conducting and managing audits of capital markets trading and infrastructure functions.
