Dr. Maggie Switek, a Manager with StoneTurn, brings more than a decade of experience in the application of economics and statistics to complex business matters. Dr. Switek has worked with experts, counsel, and enforcement agencies on litigation matters related to antitrust, intellectual property, finance, and general damages across a variety of industries including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, and agricultural commodities.
Dr. Switek’s antitrust work includes analysis of the effects of mergers and acquisitions on competition and consumer well-being. Specifically, she has analyzed factual and statistical evidence to determine relevant market, market share, barriers to entry, and market power. In the area of intellectual property, Dr. Switek has conducted analysis of reasonable royalties in cases involving patent infringement allegations related to, among others, standard essential patents (SEPs). She has also calculated damages using complex economic models in general damages matters, analyzed price movements in cases involving allegations of price fixing, and performed general statistical analysis on securities and valuation matters.
In addition to her consulting work, Dr. Switek is a part-time Professor at the University of Southern California (USC), where she teaches a seminar on economic consulting and has taught econometrics, empirical microeconomics, and policy courses. She is actively involved in research in the areas of economic policy, development, and pharamaceuticals. Earlier in her career, Dr. Switek worked as an economic consultant at Cornerstone Research advising clients on economic litigation matters.
