James Greania, a Senior Adviser with StoneTurn, has more than 40 years of experience in the automotive industry. Specifically, he focuses on vehicle emissions and fuel economy testing.
Jim has extensive knowledge of all aspects of the emissions and fuel economy test procedures and processes, including exhaust and evaporative emissions. He has worked with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other industry partners in developing calibration and maintenance best practices for emission test equipment.
Recently, he has acted as a consultant for emission laboratories, which has involved reviewing emission laboratory operations to ensure compliance with U.S. governmental emission regulations and industry best practices.
Prior to his consulting work, Jim spent more than 40 years working for an original equipment manufacturer in emissions testing. His responsibilities included ensuring the laboratory met the emission test requirements for U.S., Japanese and European Type Approval. This included 25 years management in emission test operations, equipment calibration maintenance and repair, and emission test equipment design and development to meet the changing regulatory environment.
Jim also worked extensively with the emission and fuel economy product Certification and Development teams within General Motors, and was responsible for the day to day emission laboratory quality. While at General Motors, he was responsible for the calibration, maintenance and repair of the emission test equipment at the emission laboratories at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, MI.
