Celina Borawski, a Manager with StoneTurn, has five years of experience in compliance and monitoring, forensic accounting, and auditing.

Celina has a plethora of compliance experience, having worked on many of StoneTurn’s largest and most complex monitorship engagements. She is currently working on StoneTurn’s engagement as an independent consultant to a Northern European Bank relating to a multi-billion money-laundering scheme. She works with the StoneTurn team to provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of the Bank’s ‘s overall Financial Crime Ethics and Compliance Program.

She previously worked with the StoneTurn team appointed by the SEC as the Independent Consultant to a Big 4 Public Accounting Firm involving the theft of confidential government information and training misconduct. On this engagement Celina helped evaluate the firm’s policies, processes, and controls within its Ethics and Compliance Program, recommended required remediation actions to address deficiencies, and assessed the firm’s remediation effectiveness.

Celina also was integral to the StoneTurn team appointed as the DOJ Independent Business Ethics and Compliance Monitor to Deutsche Bank. She worked with the StoneTurn team to assess the bank’s compliance with the terms of a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) related to LIBOR and EURIBOR manipulation; reviewing ethics and compliance programs across the bank, including policies and procedures designed to prevent and detect violations of antifraud and antitrust laws; and auditing antifraud and antitrust controls.

Celina is fluent in Polish and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
