Global Advisory Firm Continues to Expand Compliance Advisory Services Practice with Addition of Renowned Compliance Technology Expert
StoneTurn, a global advisory firm that assists companies, their counsel and government agencies on regulatory, risk and compliance issues, investigations, and business disputes, today announced that Valerie C. Charles, former outside counsel and in-house compliance leader, has joined the firm as a Partner. A tech-savvy compliance industry veteran, Valerie has helped to improve, streamline, and operationalize program processes for over 200 global compliance teams worldwide.

Prior to joining StoneTurn, Valerie served on the global management team of a compliance technology company. Earlier in her career, Valerie led the compliance function for a Swiss security company, where she developed and oversaw a worldwide ethics and compliance program with a focus on anti-corruption and export control compliance. She was also integral in the creation and development of a corporate compliance consulting practice in an international law firm. In addition, Valerie has overseen investigations spanning multiple countries and secured non-prosecution agreements with the Department of Justice and resolved inquiries with the Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance (DTCC).
As a StoneTurn Partner, Valerie will advise companies under investigation, as well as those focused on implementing and improving their corporate compliance programs. She will counsel clients internationally across a wide spectrum of risk, including anti-corruption, antitrust, anti-money laundering, privacy, cyber-security, data protection, corporate governance, and environmental and corporate social responsibility.
