StoneTurn is pleased to share that anti-money laundering (AML) expert and financial services industry veteran Julie Copeland has been named to Law360’s Banking and Fintech Editorial Advisory Boards. After a more than 20-year career helping the world’s largest and most complex financial institutions (FIs), Julie now works with clients ranging from early-stage Fintech companies to established FIs to leverage data and insights to better navigate regulatory and compliance risks. She will serve alongside other top experts from industry and the legal field to provide feedback on Law360’s 2021 banking- and Fintech-focused coverage and also, help shape future coverage.
The former General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and AML Officer for a start-up institutional broker-dealer in the Fintech space, Ms. Copeland is an authority on how technology and innovation aims to disrupt traditional methods in the delivery of financial services and how regulators and compliance leaders must adapt. She was appointed the first General Counsel to advise JP Morgan Chase’s compliance departments and business units globally regarding AML, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and economic sanctions issues. Julie also served as an Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, EDNY, as well as an Assistant District Attorney with the NY County District Attorney’s Office.
