Douglas Hileman, a Senior Adviser with StoneTurn, has more than 40 years of experience in compliance, risk management, business processes, auditing and non-financial reporting.

He draws upon deep experience in subject areas of environmental, sustainability, auditing and non-financial reporting. Douglas has experience in in-house operations, compliance management; environmental auditing; internal audit; and leading and supporting external assurance engagements.

Douglas led one of the first four audits for the SEC conflict minerals rule. Other focus areas include sustainability accounting disclosures, linking environmental and sustainability and non-financial reporting and enterprise risk management, external review and performance measures for auditing programs.

Earlier in his career, Douglas was a Director with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He supported external assurance, internal audit, transactions, and risk engagements as an environmental, sustainability and operations specialist.

Throughout his career, Douglas has been involved with a wide range of regulatory and audit matters, including environmental compliance programs, environmental audits, Superfund risk assessment and mitigation, environmental insurance, contract provisions for environmental matters, environmental litigation, Sarbanes-Oxley, many types of specialty audits, incorporating fraud into non-financial audits, sustainability reports, conflict minerals, audit readiness, human trafficking, and sustainability disclosures in financial filings.

Douglas is certified in Fundamentals in Sustainability Accounting, is a Certified Risk Management Assurance professional, a Certified Professional Environmental Auditor and is a Registered Professional Engineer (Chemical), in both California and Ohio.
