Michel Hagenaar, a Managing Director with StoneTurn, brings more than 18 years of experience in accounting and forensic investigations, and disputes with complex financial and Generally Accepted Principles (GAAP) issues. He has provided a wide range of audit, forensic accounting, dispute consulting, litigation support and internal control assessment services to clients in connection with post-transaction disputes, fraud investigations, regulatory inquiries, Sarbanes-Oxley 404 implementations, and various complex litigation matters.
Michel has worked across a broad range of industries, including financial services, telecommunications, hospitality, retail, wholesale, transportation, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, food production and distribution, equipment leasing, oil field services, shipping, not-for-profit, public sector and professional services.
Prior to joining StoneTurn, Michel spent more than 11 years in the Forensic and Litigation Services practices at Deloitte and several global professional services firms. During that time, he also led the Sarbanes-Oxley / Internal Control service line at a global consulting firm, where he implemented SOX 404 and remediated internal controls at public companies. Michel began his career in the Audit practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Michel is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified in Financial Forensics and a Certified Fraud Examiner. He is fluent in Spanish and Dutch.
