Ambreen Salters Presents at Law Seminar International’s IP and Technology Licensing Conference

October 29, 2012 – Ambreen Salters, a Partner in StoneTurn’s Houston office, co-presented at Law Seminar International’s IP and Technology Licensing Conference in Houston, TX on October 29 and 30.  Ambreen participated in an industry case study, “Lessons from Cutting Edge Transactions in Energy, Petrochemical and Clean Technology.”  Ambreen’s co-presenters included Gregory Porter from Andrews Kurth, Christopher Northcutt from Chevron, and Beverlee Steinberg from Shell Oil Company.

Alan Ratliff and Ambreen Salters Serve as Faculty at FCBA’s Expert Witness Conference in Washington, DC

October 23, 2012 – Houston Partners Alan Ratliff and Ambreen Salters served as faculty at the Federal Circuit Bar Association’s Expert Witness Conference on October 22 and 23 in Washington, DC.  The two day conference is a litigation skills series program that focuses on expert witness preparation in a damages setting.  Attorney participants were trained on the presentation of expert testimony, the importance of skills and knowledge of the facts for the expert, the role of legal criteria and the importance of tone.

Other faculty included attorneys from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, Ropes & Gray, Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler, McDermott Will & Emery, Finnegan Henderson Farabow Garrett & Dunner, and Wiley Rein.

Partner Jonny Frank Speaks to the Westchester Chapter of the IIA on Forensic Auditing

October 19, 2012 – StoneTurn partner Jonny Frank presented to the Westchester and Fairfield county sections of the Institute of Internal Auditors on Forensic Auditing.  Jonny instructed the group on how to enhance their careers and boost internal audit prestige and profile through forensic auditing and fraud management.  The course also focused on safeguarding assets from misappropriation, increasing earnings through a reduction in revenue and expenditure leakage, protecting brand value and avoiding criminal, civil and regulatory investigations.

Alan Ratliff Speaks at the 28th Annual Institute on Intellectual Property

October 5, 2012 – Alan Ratliff, a Partner in StoneTurn’s Houston office, was a co-presenter at the 28th Annual Institute on Intellectual Property held in Galveston, TX, Alan, and co-presenter Chris Ponder, currently a law clerk to the Honorable Roy Payne, Eastern District of Texas, and formerly with Baker Botts and Dell, focused on damages in patent litigation and specifically on the entire market value rule and settlement licenses.

In addition, StoneTurn sponsored the opening night reception attended by over 150 intellectual property attorneys from law firms and corporations.
