StoneTurn is Pleased to Announce the Opening of its Washington, DC Office

WASHINGTON, D.C.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–StoneTurn Group, a firm specializing in forensic accounting, computer forensics, intellectual property, dispute consulting and antifraud and corruption consulting, today announced the opening of its Washington, DC office, which also coincides with the opening of its New York, NY office.

Joining the San Francisco, Houston, Boston, Chicago, Austin and London offices, the new Washington, DC and New York offices will offer forensic accounting, computer forensics, litigation support services and anti-fraud and corruption consulting services to attorneys and their clients throughout the East Coast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

StoneTurn also announced today that Deirdre Flaherty, a founding partner of the firm, who practices in the forensic accounting and complex business litigation practices, has relocated to Washington to lead the office. “This market is an important one for our firm. We look forward to serving both our existing clients in this market, as well as others we have yet to meet,” commented Deirdre Flaherty.

ABOUT DEIRDRE FLAHERTY
Deirdre Flaherty has spent more than 20 years providing financial advisory services to clients in the areas of forensic accounting and complex business litigation support.

Prior to co-founding StoneTurn in 2004, Deirdre was with a “Big 4” accounting firm where she also spent significant time in the National Office working on incorporating forensic accounting methodologies into the firm’s audit approach in response to SAS 99 and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Deirdre has been involved in a variety of investigations working on behalf of Special Committees formed by the Board of Directors and/or senior management.  These matters have spanned numerous industries, including financial services, biotechnology, computer software and hardware, manufacturing and retail, among others. In addition, Deirdre has handled various complex financial litigation matters which have included the performance of analyses pertaining to breach of contract disputes, purchase price or post-acquisition disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, construction claim analyses and business interruption claims. She has performed several assessments of internal control structures and breakdowns, often performed in connection to transaction activities.

NEW YORK, NY – StoneTurn Group, a firm specializing in forensic accounting, computer forensics, intellectual property, dispute consulting and antifraud and corruption consulting, today announced the opening of its New York, NY office and the addition of partner Jonny Frank, who will lead the New York office. The opening of the New York office coincides with the opening of StoneTurn’s Washington, DC office.

ABOUT JONNY FRANK
Jonny Frank joined StoneTurn after retiring as a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he founded and led PwC Fraud Risks & Controls Group, where he pioneered the “scheme and scenario” antifraud risk assessment framework, which was subsequently embraced and endorsed by the SEC, COSO, AICPA and IIA. At PwC, Jonny led over 500 engagements, including investigations of the President of Indonesia and Bank of China Chairman.

Prior to joining PwC, Jonny worked as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Department of Justice, where he was appointed Executive Assistant United States Attorney, Eastern District of New York. His prosecutorial specialty involved investigating and prosecuting economic crimes by and against Fortune 500 companies. In the mid-1990s, the Justice Department appointed Jonny to serve as Special Counsel to the New York City Mayoral Commission on Police Corruption, where he helped to restructure processes and controls to prevent and detect corruption.

Jonny also serves on the faculty of Columbia University, where he teaches Fraud & Forensics: From Cost to Profit Center and periodically teaches courses at the Yale School of Management and Fordham University Law School.
